According to the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act, smoking is prohibited in all indoor public areas and may result in a fine of NT$2,000 to NT$10,000. Smoking in guest rooms will result in a cleaning fee of NT$3,000 charged to the occupying guest, along with the cost of repair for any damage caused.
